Advantages of Laparoscopic Gallbladder Surgery
Less postoperative pain
Small incisions reduce surgical trauma.
Faster recovery
Most patients resume normal activities quickly.
Minimal scarring
Only 2–3 small incisions (5–10 mm) are required.
Lower complication risk
The rates of wound infection and incisional hernia are lower.
Early return to daily life
Patients can return to work and everyday activities sooner.
Symptoms of Gallbladder Disease
You may have gallbladder disease if you experience: Cramping or squeezing pain in the right upper abdomen,
pain that worsens after eating fatty foods, bloating or indigestion, nausea or vomiting, or recurrent episodes of abdominal pain.
If these symptoms occur repeatedly, medical evaluation and surgical treatment may be necessary.
Recovery After Laparoscopic Gallbladder Surgery
Recovery from laparoscopic surgery is typically fast.
Patients are usually able to walk and start drinking fluids on the day of surgery or the following day.
Postoperative recommendations include: Adequate rest on the day of surgery, avoiding fatty foods during the early recovery period,
and avoiding strenuous exercise for about one week.
Additionally, if symptoms such as fever, severe pain, or jaundice occur after discharge, immediate medical attention may be required.
Living Without a Gallbladder ?
The gallbladder stores bile produced by the liver.
After removal of the gallbladder, bile flows directly from the liver into the intestine.
Most patients can live a completely normal life without significant dietary restrictions after surgery.
