Dr. Jaesik Joo had worked at a university hospital and a general hospital, and based on his experience of performing over 1,000 cancer surgeries such as colon cancer, he realized that there was no specialized hospital for colon and rectal diseases in Korea, so he specialized in benign colon and rectal diseases (rectal diseases and defecation disorders). He studied in the US and UK for 2 years with an interest in medical science, wrote about 10 SCI-listed papers, wrote surgical textbooks, and presented at various academic conferences including international academic conferences. Based on his experience of presenting in more than 100 international conferences, he moved to Gangdong Seoul Surgery Clinic 23 years ago. Since opening the clinic, we have currently performed over 70,000 painless hemorrhoid surgeries and over 150,000 colonoscopies.
